Let's face it. We could all use more fiber in our diet.
We've heard for decades just how important dietary fiber is to our health:
- Fiber can help us to control our appetite
- Fiber can lower our cholesterol, and reduce our risk of heart disease*
- Fiber can help keep our blood sugar within a healthy range
- Fiber promotes digestive health
- Fiber helps to cleanse the system
- Fiber supports healthy immune function
But, as impressive as this list is, 90 to 95% of us in this country still don't take in enough fiber each day - and the consequences are turning out to be disastrous. To give one example, a recent study ranked the United States dead last in fiber intake, while having the highest number of deaths from heart disease of 20 industrialized nations studied.
And heart disease is just the beginning. The levels of other disorders associated with our low-fiber diet are nothing to cheer about either:
Sixty five million Americans currently have diabetes, or prediabetes.
And over 65% of us in this country are either overweight or obese.
Could these statistics have anything to do with the fact that the average American consumes only 8 to 12 grams of fiber per day - less than half of the amount which nutritional authorities recommend?
To simply say yes would be the understatement of the century.
But don't let these numbers get you down. As it turns out, there just may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Millions of people, all across the country are beginning to reverse these trends, and are finding it easier than they ever though possible to reach a healthy body weight, reverse the effects of aging, and regain their health.
What's their secret? Well, they've finally realized just how important fiber really is, and they've begun to make dietary choices aimed specifically at reaching the recommended 25 to 35 grams of fiber per day.
But, as with all simple-sounding solutions, there is a "catch" - for as much as we try to seek out high-fiber foods, consuming 25 to 35 grams of fiber per day through food alone can be difficult, and for many people, downright impossible!
This is, and has been for decades, the biggest problem with trying to eat a high-fiber diet. There's simply not enough fiber in most common foods to meet our needs. And loading up on high fiber foods often means loading up on carbohydrates and calories.
So, logically, many people have wondered, "Couldn't fiber supplements be the perfect solution to this problem?"
The answer is that, sure, fiber supplements can help, but fiber supplements have been around for decades, and in that time our fiber intake in this nation has still continued to decline steadily. The fact is that people just aren't storming health-food stores en masse, to get the fiber they so desperately need.
Why?
Because most fiber supplements mix up thick and gritty and taste terrible! The idea of choking down glass after glass of citrus-flavored "sludge" each day, just to add a miniscule amount of extra fiber to our diets is enough to bring most people¿s enthusiasm for fiber to a screeching halt.
But like it or not, the fact still remains that if we value our health, and are trying not to fall prey to the degenerative effects of our modern food supply, we simply have to find a way to take in more fiber each day.
That's why, at Integrated Supplements, we decided to tackle the fiber problem head-on. We decided to re-examine everything we thought we knew about fiber supplements; and in doing so we asked ourselves what, at first, seemed like some pretty crazy questions.
Like:
What if we could create a fiber supplement which didn't thicken, or gel like most of the fiber supplements on the market, and was actually easy to take?
What if we could create a fiber supplement that mixed up smooth and creamy?
What if we could create a fiber supplement that actually tasted good?
What if we could create a fiber supplement that people actually enjoyed taking everyday?
And what if we created a fiber supplement which was all of these things, and which was still shown to have all of the benefits of a fiber-rich diet, including reducing our cholesterol levels and our risk of heart disease?
We knew that if such a product existed, that it would change the way people thought about fiber supplements forever, and would allow millions of Americans to easily supplement their diets with the fiber their bodies so desperately needed.
In short, we knew that such a product could be big. REALLY BIG.
But no fiber supplement like this has ever existed, so, we wondered, could such a product be created?
Well, it took some doing, but as it turns out, the answer, in a word, is a resounding: YES

Over time, you find that your excess weight comes off and stays off because you've begun to work with your body, and not against it. And when the people around you ask what your diet "secret" is, you tell them that you finally found an easy way to give your body the fiber which had been so lacking from your diet, and everything else just sort of took care of itself.
Or imagine going in for your yearly checkup, and having your doctor tell you "Keep up the good work, looks like we won't have to prescribe those statins after all." You find that your cholesterol levels have dropped into the healthy range without the use of potent cholesterol-lowering drugs which may carry with them a host of unwelcome side-effects. Sure, you try to eat a healthy diet, but you know that it's your increased fiber intake that has really been your "ace in the hole" in helping you to lower your cholesterol and improve your cardiovascular health.
You may also like the idea of your energy levels remaining stable all day every day. Just think about it - the fog is lifted, your mind is sharp, and you're finally able to find enough hours in the day to get things done. Fiber helps to steady your blood sugar, keeping it within a healthy range; and now that you've finally gotten off of the infamous "blood sugar rollercoaster," you notice no more mid-day "slumps" after lunch or "crashes" after dinner. You feel like a new person, and all it took was a little extra fiber each day.
For those of us who have made the decision to take in healthy amounts of fiber each day, it's clear that fiber can have some absolutely amazing effects. Effects we can notice today; and day-in, day-out, for a lifetime.
And with Fiber Balance, you¿ll find that getting the fiber you need never tasted so good!
